As an Albertan, much of our food, especially in winter is imported from southern climes - such as Chile and Mexico. These regions are facing droughts and more eratic weather patterns, which are likely to decrease food availability for all of us.
We also import many goods from third world countries which have less stringent polution controls (which is one reason many manufacturers are making their products in those countries). Don't we have a moral role in protecting this population from the polution that we don't want at home?
