Have you seen the things going on in the Middle East effect you wherever you are? How? Why do you think it is? If it's not effecting you, try to think of how it is affecting you on a GLOBAL level. big grin

What is effecting me where I am is oil prices. The Middle East is the major supplier of oil (in terms of regions) in the world. I think this is because of all the conflicts going on currently such as the riots.

Most people seem to think that it does not effect them so they are not a part of the Middle East. However, it effects oil companies and other things we need in today's world. Does it effect other people in the United States and other places? I believe it does, but most people deny it effects anything because they just do not want to help.

On a global level, it is inspiring others to riot against their own county's governments. People are demanding democracy and there will be many more conflicts to come.
As stated before me, oil is a major issue, but also other trade in general will be effected if the countries continue to revolt.

In general it wouldn't affect us, emotionally I feel sorry and find this issue not far that they don't have the same right as we do in a democratic country,we should let them a little more freedom instead to pay for their government as he wants.

As global citizens, this affects all of us. Through the media we can see/hear all the events as they take place in the Middle East. We talk about it with our families, friends, and colleagues. We learn about it in school. To a global community, the major effect is awareness. Before all these events occurred, did most of us have any idea of the situation in the Middle East? I know that I didn't. Being part of a global community means being informed, something that we all must strive to be.

I think that mostly everything that is going on in the middle east has an effect on us in the U.S. The middle east effects our media everyday, also the middle east effects our financial situation which includes the stock market.

I think its good to know people will stand up for themselves as a group so governments realize that they better be careful of the choices they are making.

Different regions of the world are affected by this in a different way. I think that because people are affectced differently that we rank the importance of the situation differently. I look at all the people who really care, rioting in the middle east for their rights as people. But then i look at the people in my region who complain that gas prices are increasing at a fast pace, but none of them are willing to fight for cheaper gas. A persons freedom seems to be a little more important than a few extra bucks spent at a gas pump. I definately support anyone who is making the fight to win their freedom back. But even if people do not want to fight back from rising gas prices we are still effected by the middle east and it still effects us emotionally.

So what maybe it does not affect us but either way if it does or doesnt they are still people going through hardships and i think they deserve our help no matter what the situation is.

i agree with the comments on oil prices, and it is majorly affecting the lifestyles of many americans. not every city in the US has mass transit such as busses ans subways, therefore it is up to me to drive myself around. with 4 dollar a gallon gasoline and only about 15 miles per gallon, it gets expensive! fast! especially when one adds the drive to and from school and work and home, the miles add up fast. i presonally have to fill my gas tank about once every 9 days, costing me 65 dollars each time, maybe more. when the conflects continue and oil prices rise, we need to fix something to change this, because i know i am not alone on struggeling to pay for gas.
