Haiti
A tragedy has unfolded
In an impoverished country far away
I have heard about this travesty
For, the media has a lot to say
A tragedy has unfolded
Due to a violent earthquake’s rage
Buildings collapsed, people got trapped
Like helpless mice in a cage
A tragedy has unfolded
Leaving Haitians in disarray
They’ve lost their homes and loved ones
On this intensely traumatizing day
A tragedy has unfolded
Donations are in desperate need
As Canadians we must contribute
For, it will shine a bright light indeed.
