Should governments aid Indigenous cultures who cannot continue to live their traditional way of life due to changes in the climate, or should they be expected to leave their traditional lands and adapt to a new world?

The world is changing too fast for us to try and accommodate to all the indigenous cultures out there. Everybody, including non-first nations, have to adapt to climate change and we should all learn to live that way because climate change is happening whether people want to admit it or not. Respectfully, The indigenous people were here before the rest of us and before we started burning fossil fuels, and other such actions contributing to climate change, there were fine and living in their traditional land and their traditional ways, but the world has changed and it is time to move on with the rest of society and join the new world.

I think Indigenous cultures should have to adapt to a different climate, and leave their traditional land if they so choose. However they can still practice other means of their culture and heritage. I don't think it is the government's responsibility to aid these people because the effects of climate change is inevitable and no specific group of people is to blame, so no one should be owed anything. We all have to adapt so it would be unfair if Indigenous peoples had special privileges or benefits.

I believe that the government should be open to helping the people that have been striving so hard to keep their traditional ways of life alive. They should try to help these people keep up with these ways. They should respect that this is the way they have lived for a long time, and it is the way they would like to continue living. The government needs to take care of the people of its country, it is very important that the indigenous people are respected and helped as much as possible. They don't know any other way of life. Therefore, they should be allowed to continue they way they have been. The government should help with the problems that have been caused by climate change, because there is no way that these people can do it all on their own.

Everyone has to learn to adapt to the new conditions of climate change, it's the way the world is going now. Aiding cultures would certainly help, but with the amount of change going on, more and more cultures are going to be changed, with the effects from global warming, and the amount of money the government will need to put into aiding cultures will rise, and possibly have a negative impact on the economy.

I think the government only should aid Indigenous cultures to a certain extent. I believe that these indigenous cultures should try to adapt their traditional way of life in the new world, but if they are struggling the government should help smile

Yes. They are incharge of the country and cictizens depend on the for everything, so i dont see why they cant act upon the climate change.

No i believe the goverment is not responsible for the climate change and that we are having to adapt to it aswell so the Indigenous cultures will have to learn to adapt on their own because we can not spoon feed them forever.

I feel that with the climate changes and the many changes occuring in the environment, all residents need to adapt on some scale, including us. therefore i belive that the government should help to some extent, but when it comes down to it, we're all trying to adapt in our own ways.

I believe that First Nations cannot leave their traditional ways to adapt to the New World. First Nations had these traditions for centuries, and taking it away from them is like taking something out of their lives, out of their identity. I think governments should aid the First Nations

They should adapt.

In my opinion people from first nations should try to adapt.

They should learn to adapt to the climate changes because everyone else has to do the same also. It's not just the developing countries.

Yes, I believe that the government should put some sort of plan in place to help these individuals. Although the rest of society may have to adapt as well, I feel that most people living in, say Canada, are quite use to change. The Indigenous have traditions and culture attached to the land they live on. It’s not just a piece of land it’s their history. The government should respect this and try to preserve their cultures.

No govermnet should not have to go out of their way to aid every indigenous group so that their traditional way of life many be maintained. The world is growing EMENSLEY and people need to adapt. New technoglogy is being disovered every day and they way we go about our day is changing all the time. People can't live in the past, our world could not move forward if we did.
Yes it is sad that traditional culture are dieing sad but at the same time ,new ones are gorwing smile. We dont live how we did even 10 years ago for a reason. Nothing could get done. Its not practicle by any means.

The worlds climate is changing and everyone is being affected. The only reason any specific group/culture should have more aid from the government is if they are being more affected. It shouldnt matter who needs help, indigenous or not, everyone should get the support that they need.

Should governments aid Indigenous cultures who cannot continue to live their traditional way of life due to changes in the climate, or should they be expected to leave their traditional lands and adapt to a new world? yes i believe it is a responsibility for governments of indigenous peoples that have there way of life changed due to climate change because it should be government initiative to try and prevent climate change as much as possible through reducing their carbon footprint their government is leaving behind

We need to keep our culture and way of life original and leave our indigenous people alone. The best we can do is help somehow. You can't just decide to remove them from their ancestor's land to our modern way of life and just expect them to adapt. it doesn't work that way...

While some people think that the government would be "spoon feeding" the indigenous people, in other words they would be helping them adapt to a life they didn't know existed and i don't really think that those people should say that because honestly what if it was you in America or Canada that had to learn a totally different way of living with barely anything to go with and what if it was just them and they had absolutely no idea what was going on i believe it would be right to help the indigenous and i DO NOT believe it would be "spoon feeding" them apparently to some people it would be unfair when really the government would be helping the indigenous people work to be able to live at our level of knowledge of the modern world and personally i think that is very correct in the most human way ... this is coming from a 14 yr old girl by the way...js
